Thomas Ludlow of Legoland, Co. Cavan, Ireland
Family tradition had it that a particular tombstone in Kilmore churchyard was
where Thomas stood to listen to John Wesley whose diary records three visits
to Killeshandra and Kilmore, the last on 23 May 1789.
Martin Ludlow quotes Charles Ludlow who claims that Cousin Dora said her great
grandfather was Thomas of Ardee who died in his 40s in or around Ballyhaise or
Castle Terra, Co. Cavan. Charles said the wills should be checked because
cousin Dora described him as a merchant leaving a number of children and
coming from Meath, Louth area.
Charles searched index of wills for Thomas of Ardee c. 1779. Thomas had a son
brought up at Legoland but the name is unrecorded.
Family tradition has it that this son was also Thomas and married Jane Foster
Jane Ludlow, widow appears in the Killeshandra census of 1841 with Foster
Ludlow as a son.

His name depends on family tradition. Harriet Ludlow of Troy House Ballycotton was asked by Martin Ludlow who her great grandfather was and said "Thomas Ludlow of Legoland" without a moments hesitation
